Sound and DJ Gear for a Beach Party in Santa Teresa

Pioneer CDJ-2000 NXS2 for rent in Costa Rica

Santa Teresa has earned its reputation as a place where music and the ocean meet. Sunset sessions, beach-side parties and boutique hotel events bring together locals, travellers and DJs from around the world. If you are planning one of those nights, the hardest part is often logistics: DJs travel light, and decent sound is rarely already on site. Here is how to put together the right DJ gear and speakers for a beach party in Santa Teresa. Speaker Hire Costa Rica rents the equipment; we do not provide DJs.

Think about the crowd and the space

Before choosing equipment, answer three questions: how many people are coming, is the party on the sand or on a covered deck or terrace, and what does the DJ want to play on? A sunset session for 30 friends is a very different job from a party for a few hundred people. Outdoors, sound spreads and disappears quickly, so you generally need more speaker than you would indoors for the same crowd.

DJ equipment options

  • Pioneer XDJ-RX3 (USD 300 per night). The most practical choice for beach events. It is a standalone system: the DJ plugs in a USB stick and plays, with no laptop exposed to sand and salt air.
  • Pioneer CDJ-2000 NXS2 (USD 450 per night). For touring or guest DJs who expect club-standard players. Send us the rider and we will confirm the booth we can supply.
  • Pioneer DDJ-FLX6 (USD 150 per night). A Serato controller for smaller, relaxed gatherings where the DJ is happy using a laptop.

Speakers that carry outdoors

  • Two Electro-Voice ZLX15 speakers (USD 75 per night each) are a solid base for an outdoor party: powered, rugged and with more output than the ZLX12.
  • Add the QLC 18-inch subwoofer (USD 75 per night) for electronic music. Bass is what gets lost first outdoors.
  • A ZLX12 (USD 50 per night) makes a good booth monitor so the DJ hears the mix clearly in the wind.

Example: an XDJ-RX3, two ZLX15s, one subwoofer and a ZLX12 monitor comes to USD 575 per night at our listed rates, before delivery and VAT.

Protecting gear from sand, salt and rain

The beach is beautiful and hard on electronics. A few rules make a big difference:

  • Set the DJ table and speakers on a stable, hard surface, never directly on sand.
  • Have a roof, canopy or tent over the DJ setup. Santa Teresa can get sudden showers, especially in the green season.
  • Keep drinks off the DJ table and away from equipment.
  • Pack everything away if rain comes in. Our equipment must be kept away from rain, water and sand.
  • Ask us before running the system on a generator. Unstable power can damage equipment.

Permissions and neighbours

Beach-front venues and hotels usually have their own rules about amplified music and finishing times, and public beaches may need permission for events. Check with your venue or local authorities before the party, and point speakers towards the sea or away from homes where possible.

Delivery to Santa Teresa

We deliver anywhere in Costa Rica. Our base is in Playa Grande, and delivery is priced by distance, so Santa Teresa is one of our longer trips. Message us early with your venue and dates and we will confirm the fee before you book. Rates are per night; multi-night rentals are common for retreats and event weekends.

Booking

Book with a 50% non-refundable payment online or via WhatsApp (+506 6206 6688). The remaining 50% is due on delivery or pickup, when we also collect a refundable deposit (USD 500 for orders under USD 1,000, USD 1,000 for orders of USD 1,000 or more).
