What to Rent for a Villa Party in Tamarindo

Renting a villa in Tamarindo for a birthday, a bachelor or bachelorette weekend or a group holiday is a great way to celebrate in Costa Rica. Sooner or later someone asks: what are we going to play music on? A Bluetooth speaker works for the pool in the afternoon, but for a real party you want proper DJ gear and speakers. Here is what to rent depending on your group, and how it works with Speaker Hire Costa Rica. We rent the equipment only; we do not provide DJs, so the playlist is yours.
Small group: 10 to 30 guests
For a pool party or terrace night with a smaller group, keep it simple:
- Pioneer DDJ-FLX6, USD 150 per night. A 4-channel Serato DJ controller. Connect a laptop with Serato and your music.
- Two Electro-Voice ZLX12 speakers, USD 50 per night each. Powered speakers with clear, punchy sound; plug in and go.
Total at our listed rates: USD 250 per night before delivery and VAT. If nobody in the group wants to bring a laptop, swap the FLX6 for an XDJ-RX3, which plays straight from a USB stick.
Medium group: 30 to 60 guests
Once the living room and the pool deck both fill up, step up the speakers and add bass:
- Pioneer XDJ-RX3, USD 300 per night. All-in-one with built-in mixer and touchscreen, USB playback, Beat FX and Sound Color FX.
- Two Electro-Voice ZLX15 speakers, USD 75 per night each.
- QLC 18-inch subwoofer, USD 75 per night.
Total: USD 525 per night at our listed rates. This is the setup that makes a villa feel like a club for the night.
Bringing in a professional DJ
If you have hired a DJ, ask what they want to play on before you rent anything. Many are happy on an XDJ-RX3; others ask for club-standard Pioneer CDJ-2000 NXS2 players (USD 450 per night). Send us their rider on WhatsApp and we will confirm what we can supply. A ZLX12 (USD 50) makes a good booth monitor.
Villa rules and practical tips
- Check the house rules. Many rental villas and condo complexes in Tamarindo have quiet hours and limits on events. Your host or property manager will know.
- Mind the pool and the sand. Keep speakers and the DJ table on a hard surface, under cover and away from the pool edge, sprinklers and sandy feet.
- Power. Use the villa's mains supply and ask us before connecting anything to a generator.
- Point speakers into the property. You get better sound for your guests and fewer complaints from neighbours.
Delivery and collection
Our base is in Playa Grande, close to Tamarindo. Delivery is priced by distance from Playa Grande; send us the villa address and your dates and we confirm the fee before you book. You can also collect from us. Setup and breakdown are available for an additional fee if you would rather not deal with cables. Rates are per night, which suits weekend stays.
How to book
